As Matthew McConaughey says in that irritating Cadillac commercial, “You’ve just gotta find that balance, where taking care of yourself takes care of more than just yourself. That’s the sweet spot.”

SO, with that sage advice in mind, if you’ve ever found yourself sitting around on a breezy first Thursday of the month you can do just that! Head over to what is Houston’s coolest neighborhood (don’t take my word for it, click here) to experience Mid Main’s First Thursdays where you will find great food, local music and artful stuff to buy. All in good conscience because all of the participating businesses donate a portion of their sales that night to local non-profits and give back to organizations that make Houston awesome.

Come by the Art Garden on Main Street at Winbern, make a $5 donation to the featured organization and enjoy good tunes, hang with great peeps, plus enjoy tasty libations compliments of Deep Eddy Vokda and Saint Arnold Brewing Company. Some of the local groups that we have benefitted in the past include Urban Harvest, Camp for All, BikeHouston, Fresh Arts, the Orange Show, KPFT and Houston Tomorrow… to name a few.

So no excuses…EAT, SHOP & ROCK for a good cause!

**First Thursdays take a hiatus in the summer months and will start back up in the fall. Check out Mid Main’s First Thursday for a complete schedule and more details.
